Borrowing Feinberg Library Reserve Materials

How do I look up course reserves?

Select the Course Reserves option from the top menu of Feinberg Library's online catalog to search our reserve library. Search the listings for your course by entering the instructor's last name or course name (eg. LIB102A) in the keyword search box.

How do I put materials on reserve?

Faculty can place materials in print or e-reserves by completing the Faculty Reserves Form and bringing reserve materials to the library.

Where are Reserve materials located?

All reserve materials are located at the 2nd level Service Desk at Feinberg Library. A member of our staff will check reserve materials out on your account for use in the library for a two hour period. A valid Plattsburgh State identification card is required. Return reserve materials to the 2nd level Service Desk.

What kinds of materials are placed on Reserve?

Faculty members place items on reserve so all students have in-library access to course-related materials. Items placed on reserve include materials from Feinberg Library's collection as well as items made available by members of our faculty. Course-related reserve materials available at the Second Level Service Desk are in formats such as DVDs, videos, CD's, audiocassettes, and books.

Can I take the reserve material out of the library?

Reserve materials are limited to in-library use, and the loan period is only two hours. Fines accrue at a rate of 50 cents per hour for overdue materials.

What equipment is available for me to view or listen to media materials in the library?

Media equipment is conveniently located on the 3rd level of Feinberg Library to view and/or listen to DVD, videos, CDs, audiocassettes, and records.

How do I use Electronic Reserve?

Electronic reserves services are available at the Eres page. A course password is required to access electronic reserves pages. Only instructors can provide passwords. Most electronic reserve documents are available in Adobe Acrobat pdf file format. A link is provided to download the free version of Acrobat Reader to view pdf documents.
