Martial Arts Instructional Sports Club
Participants will learn Shaolin Kempo, Boxing, Muay Thai, and basic through intermediate MMA skills. We will be working ring strategies, basic kicking and punching techniques. Guard and mounting transitions and entering skills will also be covered. The use of basic equipment, focus mitts and Thai pads will be taught. Extra conditioning drills that compliment other sports will also be included. Instruction is planned so that individuals may start at anytime during the school year.
Details About the Club
Instructor: David Boise is a master instructor who has been training for the last 34 years. He is a 1st degree black belt in Chinese Kempo, has a 8th degree Black Belt and is regional instructor of Fred Villari's (Shaolin Kempo, Jiu-Jitsu and Kung Fu). He has been teaching professionally for 29 years.
Schedule:
Instruction is scheduled in the group activity room on the bottom level of Memorial Hall every Monday and Wednesday from 8:30-9:30 p.m. September - March. A practice time with supervision has been scheduled on Tuesday's 9:15-10:15 p.m.
Required Equipment: No uniforms are required. Participants should wear loose comfortable clothing. Street shoes are not allowed in activity area.
Participation:
Participation is completely voluntary, and is open to Plattsburgh State students, faculty and staff. Participants are required carry their own health insurance.
