Before Plattsburgh: Played freshman year at Lynchburg College during the 2007 season, appearing in seven games for the Hornets…LC went 10-6-2 that year…sat out the 2008 campaign and has three years of athletic eligibility remaining.
High School: Four-year letterman under soccer coach Bryan Verbrugge at Covenant School in Charlottesville, Va….racked up 66 goals and 40 assists during career…named to all-conference, -state and –central Virginia teams…helped squad to a conference championship…also lettered in basketball (3), golf (2) and lacrosse (1)…made honor roll three years…played club soccer for Richmond Kickers (U-12 through U-19).
Personal: Born John Mathew Martin on Feb. 15, 1989, in Charlottesville, Va….parents are Todd and Kelly…enjoys playing golf in spare time…history major.
