Lacrosse Season In Review - 2003

The lacrosse team narrowly missed qualifying for the SUNYAC Tournament for the first time, losing a tiebreaker after finishing the regular-season in a three-way tie for fourth.

The squad finished 7-6 overall and 3-4 in the SUNYAC. Its fourth-place finish in the regular-season conference standings was its best ever.

The Cards opened the season with three wins, including a 7-0 win at Scranton, the first shutout victory in team history.

Jason Lappies earned honorable mention All-Conference honors.

Peter Vottis became the team's all-time leading scorer with a game-winning goal in overtime that gave the Cardinals a 16-15 victory over Brockport in the last game of the season.

Vottis finished his career with 91 goals (second all-time at Plattsburgh) and 26 assists for 117 points, one more than Dan Kalberer and Matt Virga.

Coach John Combs resigned after the season for personal reasons.
