Heymann Honored by SUNYAC  

FREDONIA, N.Y. - Plattsburgh State sophomore Mike Heymann is the male cross country runner of the week in the State University of New York Athletic Conference, it was announced on Monday.  The period concluded on Sunday.  This marks the third time this season that Heymann has captured the SUNYAC weekly award; Sept. 8 and 22 were the other dates.  [read more ]

Volleyball Splits Two Matches to Conclude FDU Tourney

Heymann Wins, Cardinals Second at Geneseo Invitational   

MOUNT MORRIS, N.Y. - Sophomore Mike Heymann won Saturday's Geneseo Invitational at Letchworth State Park, leading the Plattsburgh State men's cross country team to a second place finish in the 21-team field.  Heymann, who has earned three wins in five races this season, navigated the 8-kilometer course in 25 minutes and 24 seconds.  [read more ]

 Cardinals Post Strong Showing at Geneseo Invitational   

MOUNT MORRIS, N.Y. - The Plattsburgh State women's cross country team placed second behind nationally No. 8-ranked Geneseo in the 17-team Geneseo Invitational on Saturday at Letchworth State Park.  The Cardinals had three Top 20 finishes to score 81 points--five more than third-place Rochester.  The Blue Knights had seven runners--including all five scorers--in the Top 15 for 25 points.  [read more ]

Lakers Upset Plattsburgh Men's Soccer at Home

OSWEGO, N.Y. -  The Plattsburgh State men's soccer team had its five-game win streak against Oswego snapped on Saturday afternoon when the host Lakers registered a 2-1 victory in State University of New York Athletic Conference play.  The Cardinals fall to 9-3-1 overall and 2-2-1 in the SUNYAC while Oswego improves to 5-5 and 3-1.  Plattsburgh had posted four shutout wins in the last five meetings before its last loss at the hands of the Lakers during the 2002 season.  [read more

Cardinals Split on Opening Day at FDU Volleyball Tourney

MADISON, N.J. -  The Plattsburgh State volleyball team opened the FDU-Florham Devils Classic Friday with a victory over Wesley, 25-17, 25-21, 25-13, before losing to host Farleigh Dickinson-Florham in three sets, 25-20, 25-18, 25-20.  The Cardinals improve to 6-19 on the year.  [read more ]

Plattsburgh Ties Cortland Men's Soccer on the Road

CORTLAND, N.Y. -  Plattsburgh State sophomore newcomer and former Cortland player Matt Mankowski scored his sixth goal of the season in the 55th minute, lifting the visiting Cardinals to a 1-1 double-overtime tie with Cortland on Friday night in a State University of New York Athletic Conference men's soccer contest at the SUNY Cortland Stadium Complex. The Red Dragons' record now stands at 4-2-2 overall and 2-0-1 in the conference, while the Cardinals are 9-2-1 and 2-1-1.  [read more ]

Women's Soccer Ekes Past Cortland in Double Overtime

PLATTSBURGH, N.Y.  - Helen Giroux scored the game-winning goal 4 minutes and 14 seconds into the second overtime to lift Plattsburgh State to a 2-1 sudden-victory over the visiting Cortland Red Dragons on Friday afternoon at the Plattsburgh Field House Soccer Complex.  The Cardinals improve to 9-1-1 overall and 3-1 in the league after winning their home opener in State University of New York Athletic Conference play.  [read more ]

Men's Hockey Season Ticket Information Released

PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. - Plattsburgh State Athletics officials have announced that 2008-09 season tickets for Cardinal men's ice hockey will go on sale on Saturday, Oct. 4, at the Field House Box Office.  Admittance times are 9 to 10 a.m. for current reserved-seat ticket holders, 10 to 11 a.m. for persons who want seat naming rights with priority seating and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for the general public. Saints Too Much for Cardinals Women's Tennis
