The women’s basketball team made its first-ever appearance in a non-league post-season tournament and equalled team highs in victories.
The Cardinals earned the fifth seed in the ECAC Upstate NY Tournament and played at Utica College in the first round. The team lost, 67-58, despite 16-point performances by Erin Hutchinson and Jennifer McDonough.
The squad was 16-11 and 11-5 in the SUNYAC, equalling last year's team record for overall wins and the 1998-99 team's mark for conference victories. It was only the second time in team history that the Cardinals posted back-to-back winning seasons.
The team had a record seven-game winning streak from January 21 to February 4 before losing five of its last six games.
Junior guard Scottie Rovito led the team in scoring at 13.9 points per game. She moved up to No. 8 on the team's all-time scoring list with 727 points.
Rovito and junior forward Erin Hutchinson were Second Team All-Conference selections.
Senior guard Erica Poole missed the last six games of the season after being called to active duty in the Army National Guard.
