Student Ambassadors
Kristine AkeyKristie is a Spanish, French, and Education major from Plattsburgh, New York. A junior, she is an active member of the French club, and an officer to both the Student Association and the Honors Student Association (part of the Honors Program). Kristie has participated in study abroad programs to both Chile and Nicaragua (summer 2008) and is planning to study abroad in France and Mexico. As a first-year Student Ambassador, she is looking forward to representing Plattsburgh State in a positive light and get to know both students and alumni. |

Narmina AmirovaNarmina is in her third year here at SUNY Plattsburgh as an Accounting, Finance, and Business major. She is on the Finance Board and is the Vice President of the Asian Club. In her spare time, she enjoys playing sports. Narmina is a second-year Student Ambassador. |

Andrew AntonAndrew is from Sri Lanka and is entering his senior year at SUNY Plattsburgh. He is a Hotel, Restaurant, and Tourism Management major with a minor in Business. He is always looking to be involved on campus. So far: he was an Orientation Leader for the ISS office, he is a member of the Gospel Choir, and the HRT club. He joined Phi Eta Sigma, the freshman honor society and he is also a member of the Phi Mu Delta, which is a multi-cultural fraternity. He is also a Resident Assistant. Andrew is a second-year Student Ambassador. |

Amanda BarocasAmanda comes from Long Island, NY. She is going into her senior year at SUNY Plattsburgh. She is pursuing her degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in mathematics. She is involved in many activities on campus such as the Alpha Phi sorority. She also works in Macomb Hall's mailroom. Amanda is a third-year Student Ambassador and is very excited for upcoming events on campus. |

Monica BoulterMonica is from Watertown, NY. She is going into her senior year as a double major in Child/Special Education with a concentration in Social Studies and Political Science. She is actively involved in many campus activities: Student Association Finance Board, Judicial Board, Peer Mentor and Vice President of Mason Hall Council. She also works in Memorial Hall in the aquatics program and as a CPR and lifeguard instructor. If that is not enough, Monica is also an RA in Harrington Hall. Monica is a third-year Student Ambassador. |

Bryan EnselBryan was born in Albany, NY but grew up in Plattsburgh, NY. He is a Senior at SUNY Plattsburgh and is majoring in Childhood/Special Education. Bryan is the Vice-President for Student Activities and has served as the student liaison during two search committees for professional staff members. You may also recognize his smiling face from the Plattsburgh State commercials. During his junior year, he redeveloped a Leadership Certification Program, that he hopes to implement by the end of his senior year. During the summer, Bryan is an Orientation Leader on the family staff (one of his favorite jobs). Overall, he likes to keep busy with campus activities and when he is not doing that, you can find him working at ResNet (computer support). Bryan is also an RA on the 2nd floor of Macomb Hall. Bryan is a third-year Student Ambassador. |

Sudeakka FrancisOriginally, Sudeakka is from St. Kitts, but is now excited to be studying International Business and Marketing with a minor in Accounting here at SUNY Plattsburgh. She is in her senior year and has established herself on campus. She is an honorary member of Omicron Delta Kappa, Phi Kappa Phi, Phi Eta Sigma, and the Interreligious Organization for World Peace. She loves to dance and is a member of the Dance Corp. In 2006, Sudeakka was named Miss. Plattsburgh State Caribbean Queen. Sudeakka has also been awarded with the Liamuiga Youth Legacy Award in 2007 from St. Kitts. She is a second-year Student Ambassador. |

Rose FrancoisRose was born and raised in Haiti; she came to the United States when she was 14 years old, and currently lives in Brooklyn, NY. Rose is a senior with a double major in Biology and Cytotechnology with a minor in Theater. She is an active student on campus; she works in Harrington Hall's mailroom, is a member of the Plattsburgh State Student Association, a participant of the mentoring program, and a tutor counselor for the pre-frehman Educational Opportunity summer program. She is also a member of the Plattsburgh State Service Corps, Resident Assistant, and Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society. You can also catch Rose as a member of the Gospel Choir or cheerleading for the Men's and Women's Basketball teams. Rose is a third-year Student Ambassador. |

Amanda GusmanAmanda is from Syracuse, NY. She is entering her sophomore year as an Audio/Radio Communication major. She's been involved with many activities on campus that include being a Student Host, an Odyssey Leader and a DJ for WARP radio (Plattsburgh State's student run radio station). In her spare time, she plays guitar and writes music. Amanda is excited for the 2008-2009 academic year and is a first-year Student Ambassador! |

Raeann HalleyRaeann is from Malone, NY and is double majoring in Public Relations/Advertising and Broadcast Journalism. On campus, she is involved in the Honors Student Association and Phi Eta Sigma, the freshman honor society. She wanted to become a Student Ambassador to improve professional communication skills, as well as represent SUNY Plattsburgh in a positive light. Raeann is a first-year Student Ambassador. |

Zaheeda HamzaZaheeda is a nursing student at SUNY Plattsburgh and is excited to be a second-year Student Ambassador. She is from Tanzania, but is excited to be studying here at Plattsburgh State. She is in her junior year and is very involved on campus. She is an RM and also a member of the Asian Club. Zaheeda has hosted Nite of Nations, an annual multi-cultural event on campus. With all of her activities, Zaheeda always finds time to study-she is an honor student here at Plattsburgh State. In her spare time, she likes to play basketball, run, and go to the gym. An interesting fact about Zaheeda: she speaks six different languages! |

Jasmine HawkinsJasmine was born in the Bronx, and raised in Rockland County during her teenage years. She is currently enrolled in the BA/MST teachers program with a concentration in mathematics and a minor in Africana Studies. She plans to add Accounting as a second major. Entering her sophomore year, Jasmine is still trying to find her niche in SUNY Plattsburgh. She is a member of the Gospel Choir and the organization club O.W.E. Jasmine is also a math tutor for Student Support Services. She wants to take advantage of everything that being a Student Ambassador has to offer: networking, significant connections with many people, and personal growth. Jasmine is a first-year Student Ambassador. |

Jacynth JohnsonJacynth is enrolled in the BA/MST program at SUNY Plattsburgh and is from Queens, NY. She is studying adolescent Education with an English Literature discipline. Her future career goal is to teach English to high school students. Jacynth works in the Educational Opportunity Office and loves working with the EOP family. She has studied abroad in England and would eventually like to travel abroad and teach English to students in a European country. Jacynth is excited to be a first-year Student Ambassador. |

Jennifer JoshuaJennifer is from Nigeria, West Africa. She is a senior at SUNY Plattsburgh studying Bio-Chemistry and Geology. She is an RA in Whiteface Hall, a tour guide, senator for the Student Association, and a member of the Gospel Choir. Jennifer is also involved with Phi Eta Sigma, Omicron Delta Kappa, and is enrolled in the honors program. In her spare time, Jennifer likes to shop, read, and sing. Melissa KennisonMelissa is an Elementary and Special Education major at SUNY Plattsburgh with a concentration in French and a minor in Photography. She is a senior this year and is very involved on campus. She is an Orientation Leader, a member of the Alpha Phi sorority, and an RA in Wilson Hall for first year stduents. Melissa also belongs to many honor societies including ODK and KDP. In her spare time, Melissa enjoys scrap booking and travel. She is a second-year Student Ambassador. |

Ryan ManyRyan comes from Vergennes, Vermont. She is entering her senior year at SUNY Plattsburgh as a Psychology major with a minor in Art Therapy. Actively involved in the Student Association as a senator in both the 45th and 46th legislations, Ryan serves as the ex-officio for the Activities Coordination Board and as Student at Large for the Council of Fraternal Affairs (COFA). As a Resident Assistant in Macdonough Hall, she serves as Hall Council Treasurer, Macdonough's Administrative Assistant, and Mailroom Supervisor. Ryan completed the Freshman Emerging Leaders Seminar as well as being a member of the CAS Board. She also works with Dr. Nancy Elwess as a Biology Research Assistant. Inducted into Phi Eta Sigma, a freshman honor society, and Psi Chi, the Psychology Honor Society. Ryan is also a member of Omicron Delta Kappa, a prestigious leadership honor society. Overall, she likes to keep herself busy! Ryan is a first-year Student Ambassador. |

Radhika MohanRadhika is from the big city of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Transferring from her home college, she has only been part of the Plattsburgh family for a year now, but feels she has paved her path. She is a Newspaper and Broadcast Journalism major. She writes for Plattsburgh State's college newspaper, Cardinal Points, the online magazine All Points North and also is on the crew of PSTV, the on-campus television station. She also has interned at the Press Republican writing for the features section. Radhika is a member of the communications honor society, Lamda Pi Eta and was recently inducted into Phi Kappa Phi. To sum her experience here in two words, she says, "Simply Marvelous!" Radhika wanted to become a Student Ambassador to receive as well as give a wholesome Plattsburgh State experience. She is a first-year Student Ambassador. |

Fatima Muzleena MuzamilMuzleena is a third-year Student Ambassador from Colombo, Sri Lanka. She is a senior double majoring in Mathematics and Physics. Muzleena received the Presidential Scholarship for incoming freshman and is enrolled in the Honors Program. She is a member of the Asian Club, Gospel Choir, and the Math Club and currently holds office in each of them. She was an Orientation Leader for International students, an RA, and currently works as a peer tutor in the mathematics department and a Staff Assistant in the Honors Center. Her long term goal is to become a Mechanical Engineer. |

Aparna NigamAparna is a junior at SUNY Plattsburgh majoring in Biochemistry with a minor in Psychology. She is a member of Project HELP and is always looking for ways to volunteer in the community. Aparna also has had the opporunity to work with CVPH Mentoring Program as a lunch time mentor. Aparna wanted to become a Student Ambassador to become more connected with the SUNY Plattsburgh campus. She is a first-year Student Ambassador. |

Natalie NyameNatalie was born in the Bronx, New York, but currently resides in Queens. Natalie is a sophomore biology major and her plans for the future include continuing her education through medical school and returning to her homeland, Ghana. Natalie is a dedicated and enthusiastic member of club Akeeba, African Unity, and Organization of Women of Ethnicity. She will also be an R.M. Natalie is a scholars host and also a host for the Multicultural Student Visitation Program. In her free time, she enjoys reading, hanging out with friends, and just relaxing. Natlie is very excited about being a first-year Student Ambassador. |

Tobiloba OniTobi is entering his junior year at SUNY Plattsburgh as a Biology major with Chemistry as a minor. He is the Associate Justice of the Student Association and is in the Honors Program. Tobi has also received a variety of awards including the Best Graduating Student Award from Citadel International College. Utsav PandeyUtsav is a senior majoring in Biology and Medical Technology with a minor in Chemistry. He is from Kathmandu, Nepal. Utsav is currently a Resident Mentor for Residence Life at SUNY Plattsburgh and will be working as a Resident Assistant for the 2008-2009 academic year. Utsav is a member of Phi Eta Sigma, Phi Kappa Phi and ODK honor societies. In his spare time, Utsav enjoys being outdoors and spending time with friends. He wanted to become a Student Ambassador because he has always had the desire of representing the SUNY Plattsburgh campus community, which has meant a lot to him during his stay here. Nishit SoodNishit is an international student from New Delhi, India. He is a finance major at Plattsburgh State with a junior standing. He is the President of the Stock Market Club, which is the biggest club in SBE. Nishit was recently appointed as a Resident Mentor. He is a part of Phi Eta Sigma and Omicron Delta Kappa. He is also part of the Sigma Tau Gamma fraternity on campus. Apart from this, he loves meeting people and interacting with them. He feels every person is unique and needs to be respected for who they are. Nishit loves playing ping pong and actively follows cricket. He is a first-year Student Ambassador. |

Lisa TaberLisa is from Albany, NY. She is a senior Criminal Justice and Political Science major at SUNY Plattsburgh. She is very active on campus being a member of the kick-line team and Criminal Justice and Sociology Club. Lisa is the Community Service Coordinator for Project HELP and works as an intern at Attorney Johnston's law office here in Plattsburgh. Sean WatsonSean is entering his senior year at SUNY Plattsburgh and is a French and English major with a minor in Anthropology. Some of his activities on campus include: RSA representative, peer tutor, member of Omicron Delta Kappa, Sigma Tau Delta, Scholars Weekend host, Multicultural Weekend Host, and he is also a Resident Assistant.
