SUNY Plattsburgh has received one of the largest gifts from an alumna in the history of the college.
The donation of $470,000 comes from the estate of former librarian Phyllis Wells. Her gift is the second largest bequest to the college from an alumna. Read more.

From sea exploration and housework to immigration and revolt, SUNY Plattsburgh’s history department is publishing prolifically.
Since 2008, the department has released eight books. Nine if you count “Manly Meals and Mom’s Home Cooking” by Dr. Jessamyn Neuhaus, which just came out in paperback form. Read more.
The SUNY Plattsburgh Alumni Association welcomed some 500 new members Saturday, Dec. 15, at the college’s annual winter commencement ceremony at the Field House.
President John Ettling presided over the ceremony with Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs James Liszka, who presented the candidates for degrees. Thomas Corigliano, associate dean, SUNY Plattsburgh Branch Campus at Queensbury, served as faculty marshal. Read more.

New Ukulele Club Strikes a Chord with StudentsThey’re tiny; they’re tinny; and they’ve found their way into the hands and hearts of a student group this past semester. “The ukulele has to be the happiest instrument ever,” Shannon Ferguson said. “You just get happy when you play it.” Read more.
