Bright with Promise Campaign Goals and Progress

SUNY Plattsburgh students are bright with promise. Upon graduation, they will go forth and make a difference in their communities and in the world. Their potential is limitless.

Alumni, faculty, staff and friends of the college are called upon to help our students achieve their dreams by making a promise to provide charitable support.

With this support, the college can deliver on the promise and provide "the Plattsburgh experience," an outstanding education rooted in academic excellence, ethical values, lifelong learning and responsible citizenship within a global community.

Campaign Goal: $15,000,000

Endowment $3,232,489
Plattsburgh Fund $5,536,431

How does my gift to the campaign make a difference?

Endowed Scholarships

Endowed scholarships are especially important because they are "perpetual" gifts. In other words, a gift of endowed scholarship becomes part of the college's overall endowment, earning interest over time. The principal of the gift remains intact but a portion of the income generated by that fund is used for scholarship awards. As a long-term investment, the fund will grow along with any other contributions made to that fund. Together they will provide an ongoing source of support for future generations of students.

Plattsburgh Fund

Gifts to the Plattsburgh Fund (also known as "the annual fund") are generally unrestricted and can be used for various student life and academic enrichment projects as well as general scholarship aid from year to year.

Capital Projects

These gifts can be used to enhance the college's physical plant and meet equipment needs across the campus.
