- About Plattsburgh
One of my main areas of focus is working with students interested in studying away from Plattsburgh. This includes summer, winter, semester, and short-term programs, as well as the National Student Exchange.
Academic credentials: B.A. in History from Siena College (Loudonville, New York); M.A. in Intercultural Relations form Lesley University (Cambridge, Massachusetts).
Personal biography: Although I grew up on Lake Champlain, I studied and worked in other parts of New York and Massachusetts before moving to Plattsburgh in 2011. Prior to relocating to the North Country, I worked at Alfred State College in the Office of International Education.
Places I have visited: I have been lucky to travel to Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and Switzerland. In addition, I studied abroad at Bond University in Australia and completed an internship at Keele University in England.
Favorite SUNY Plattsburgh activity: Night of Nations is a great event that showcases the wide range of talent and culture on the Plattsburgh campus. I encourage everyone to attend!
Favorite experience as GEO staff member: Speaking to students who have returned from their study away program. Our students have unique experiences, so it is always exciting to hear about the classes they took, the places they visited, and where they plan to travel next!
Best advice for prospective study abroad students: There are a wide range of study away programs that offer different lengths of time, costs, classes, and locations. Invest your time to find the program that is the best fit for you. It will be worth it when you are studying a new topic, meeting interesting people, or traveling to an exciting place.
