Graduate Assistantship Opening in Educational Opportunity Program
The position provides a tuition scholarship (limited to $6,900) and a stipend of $5,320 for the 2008-09 academic year. The graduate assistant reports to the director of the Educational Opportunity Program and is responsible for 20 hours per week throughout the academic year.
(Note: This position is to be filled for the 2008-2009 academic year)
Responsibilities:
- Provide academic advisement to program students.
- Act as liaison between program students and the college.
- Assist in the overall coordination of the program tutorial component.
- Assist in other program projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Matriculated full-time graduate student at SUNY Plattsburgh.
- Experience working with any of the following is preferred: African, Hispanic, Native, or Asian American students; students from deep rural areas; or adult students.
- Previous experience tutoring or counseling students preferred.
- Enrollment in counseling, education, or psychology program preferred.
