Secretary I
Hi! I'm the secretary/office manager for the departments of Music and Theatre located on the second floor (rm. 220) of the Myers Fine Arts Building. I came to SUNY Plattsburgh ten years ago after working at a local correctional facility for ten years. I have worked in the School of Business and Economics and now after being in the Music and Theatre atmosphere for seven years, I just love it! Plattsburgh State has so many helpful and friendly faculty and staff.
I live with my husband and sons on the river in the Adirondack Mountains. Both my sons have recently graduated; one from high school and one from college. I love boating, kayaking, camping, shopping (of course!) and reading.
Being a mom of a college student has certainly helped in assisting our Plattsburgh State students. No matter the dilemma, students are my priority even though the telephone is ringing, the emails are dinging, and the line at my desk stretches far behind them.
I handle the office with a sense of humor and understanding. No matter what the question or problem, I try to help the students as much as I can; if I can't help, I send them in the right direction. I understand what it is like to be puzzled over the many procedures necessary at Plattsburgh. Being away from home and starting college is often a confusing experience for many; I hope to make it easier for any Plattsburgh State student making their way to my office!
