Meet One of Our Students
Dan Arkus, Senior
Dan Arkus is from Pittsburgh, PA. He is a senior majoring in Social Work and a minor in Sociology. He is a member of the Social Work Student Association and is a research assistant for the Health Center.
The Social Work Program Provides Learning Through Internships
Dan says, "Everything I learned in my classes are things that I use everyday. Things like empathy and the value of human life are very important to me."
I've Developed a Sense of Community in the Social Work Program
I think that my favorite part of this program was the opportunity for me to work with difficult client populations because it provided challenges, which taught me so much about the field and about myself. I think that the program, faculty and classmates are great! You'll form friendships that will last far beyond graduation day.
Dan's Advice for Social Work Students
My best advice for new social work students is that they should get involved! Students should not only become involved with campus activities, but the things within the department as well.
