Independent Studies
The political science program faculty is always willing to provide independent study opportunities for students who want to go beyond the regular course offerings. Some recent independent studies have dealt with the following topics:
- The impact of television advertising on election campaigns
- Abortion policy in the U.S.
- Technology and politics
- Congressional budgeting practices
- Government stability and economic well-being
- The role of the superfund in environmental policy
- Anarchism and globalism
- Education policy and fairness in educational oppurtunity
In addition, many of the courses offered by the Honors Program are of interest to Political Science students; some are in fact Political Science courses.
