Political Science Faculty - Dr. Martin Lubin
Professor
Dr. Lubin received his Ph.D. from the University of Illinois, specializing in political theory and comparative politics. A native of Montreal, he has been highly involved in the Canadian Studies Program
at Plattsburgh State. Dr. Lubin teaches Political Theory and Ideology, Canadian Politics and European Politics. His seminar on Comparative Ethnic Politics is one of the "capstone" courses political science majors may take to meet their requirements.
Dr. Lubin's Canadian Politics course is part of the Canadian Studies major. He teaches occasional special courses as part of the college's Honors Program as well and several of his courses are part of the General Education Program.
Dr. Lubin's research has focused heavily on Quebec Politics and Society, subjects on which he has presented numerous papers and lectures. In 1999, he was awarded the prestigious Prix Du Quebec in recognition of his work.

- 2001: Translated J.F. Lisee's "How to Resolve the Language Dilemma: Invest in Quebec's Uniqueness" for the Journal Inroads
- 2000: Gave 15 guest lectures on Canadian & Quebec politics at 9 colleges across the U.S.
- 1999: Awarded Prix du Quebec by Government of Quebec for "outstanding contributions to Quebec studies in the United States."
