Philosophy Has Strengthened My Critical Thinking
What I like about the philosophy program is that the courses are unique and challenge my critical thinking ability. It makes you develop that skill. I also like the fact that all the philosophy professors are accessible. They've enhaced my communications skills and made me get more involved in school and what's going on. The Philosophy Department holds colloquiums and everyone in the department shows up. At the colloquium we read papers we've written on different philosophical topics chosen by the professors. Then we answer questions and have a discussion. Even though the Philosophy Department is small I'm glad it's kicking around. I don't regret picking philosophy as my major. Not only is it really interesting, it's usefull regardless of my future plans. It helps you think. As an institution, Plattsburgh State has broadened my perspectives. It never ceases to amaze me.
