Meet our Nursing Students
Evelyn Adusei, Junior
Evelyn Adusei is a Nursing major from Ghana and is in her junior year.
I've Improved my Critical Thinking and Team Work Here
I like the critical activity part of the nursing program. You have to think "why are you doing that," and "what service is it to the patient?" The diversity of the class is nice too. There are people from all different parts of the country here. We learn discipline, sacrifice, and how to work as a team. A team works better because you have the same goal and can support each other in case you need help.
I like the lab (Damianos Nursing Skills Lab); you can always go there and practice what you learned in class. The professors are available to help you with anything you didn't understand in class. The extra hours in the lab are a big help.
Nursing is in need right now and the program prepares you for the field. It prepares you for what you will face in the future and what comes ahead. Students have to study and we have the lab, library, computer labs, and study rooms. There's no excuse not to study because of the diversity of places to go. If you can't study in your dorm, you can go somewhere else.
Evelyn's Advice for Nursing Students
I would encourage people who want to study nursing not to feel like they can't do it. It's not impossible. You need to balance work and fun. If your taking the hardest teacher you shouldn't give up. Work with friends in team work and you will be OK.
