Music Faculty - Rose Chancler

Adjunct Lecturer

 Rose Chancler is a frequent performer throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe, appearing equally as both a soloist and a collaborative artist. She has played concertos and recitals in Alaska, New York, Illinois, Wisconsin, Texas, Pennsylvania, California, Oklahoma and Massachusetts and played chamber music performances with notable artists, including Paul Rosenthal, Jeffrey Solow, Harvey Pittel, Carol Wincenc, and others. She has been an invited guest artist and teacher at the Fairbanks Summer Arts Festival and at Magisterra- the University of Iowa International Chamber Music Festival and Academy. She is currently collaborating with the double-bassist Volkan Orhon on a CD for Centaur which is scheduled for release sometime late in 2004.

Rose has held teaching positions at the University of Alaska, Fairbanks, the Baylor University School of Music, and the University of Iowa School of Music, and has been a faculty accompanist and coach at the Chautauqua Institution and the Meadowmount School of Music. She is a current faculty member at SUNY Plattsburgh.

She holds a bachelor's degree in piano performance from the University of Texas at Austin, and master's and doctoral degrees in piano performance and literature from the Eastman School in Rochester, New York.
