Advanced Certificate in Leadership

Improve Your Leadership Skills

The Advanced Certificate in Leadership allows currently practicing professionals to enhance their leadership skills through applied study. It provides a foundation and practical application of key elements of the art and science of leadership practice in just four courses.

You will have an opportunity to examine your personal strengths and areas to develop as you explore leadership beliefs, behaviors, and decision-making in a variety of global, cultural, and organizational contexts. Skills learned enable you to excel in leadership performance in your personal, professional and community life. You will also be able to apply coursework to your specific interest areas in organizational or community leadership contexts.

Enhance Your Workforce

This program is an opportunity for organizations to put emergent leaders on the fast track to success. Because the program is offered at the graduate level and course content is designed to meet specific competency out-comes, organizations have the ability to assess the learning achievements and newly acquired leadership skills of employees.

The program can be used as part of an employee development program, benefits package or remedial training requirement based on an organization’s performance review process.

Study on One of Two Campuses or at Your Organization

The program is offered at SUNY Plattsburgh’s Branch Campus in Queensbury (on the SUNY Adirondack Campus), the main campus in Plattsburgh or an organization’s on-site location. Currently courses are offered in a mixture of on-line, face-to-face and hybrid formats. Development is underway to offer the program fully on-line to provide maximum study flexibility for candidates.
