Employment Opportunities

Some companies and agencies our Geology alumni are employed at include:

	United States Geological Survey The United States Geological Survey (USGS) is the one of the principal federal agencies for collecting and disseminating environmental information. The USGS contains the Biology, Geology, Water Resources, and Geography Divisions and thus provides internships and employment opportunities for geology and environmental science graduates.
	Malcolm Pirnie - Geotechnical Engineers Many alumni work for geotechnical consulting firms such as Malcolm Pirnie. Coursework in hydrology, environmental geology, water quality and GIS is particularly advantageous. Some career tracks include Hydrogeologist, Environmental Scientist, GIS specialist. Geological Services Corporation

Some of our Geology alumni are employed by Geological Services Company, Inc. GSC provides environmental consulting and management solutions designed to effectively manage clients' environmental liability.

NYS Department of Environmental Conservation

Geology alumni are employed by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, Division of Environmental Remediation. The Bureau of Spill Prevention and Response is responsible for dealing with hazardous waste spills and remediation.

XPert Design and Diagnostics, LLC.

Some of our Geology alumni are employed by XPert Design and Diagnostics. Xpert is a consulting firm specializing in risk management, design of remediation strategies, contaminant fate and transport modeling, and soil and groundwater modeling.

Earth Science Teaching
