Foreign Language Minors
Minor in French, German, or Spanish (18-21 credits)
The minor in either French, German, or Spanish begins its sequence with introductory language and culture courses, then moves to advanced language and culture courses, including courses taught in English, like civilization, film and literature courses.
The emphasis in language and culture education lies on gaining proficiency in five skills: speaking, reading, listening, writing and cultural awareness.
The knowledge of a foreign language has become invaluable in a world that moves closer together and requires inter-cultural awareness, communication and linguistic skills.
Employers in all fields require excellent communication skills, including the command of one or more foreign languages.
