Jasmine Chambers, Class of 2003

Jasmine Chambers graduated in the fall of 2003 with a major in Spanish and a minor in French.

The Professors Rekindled My Love for the Spanish Language

The professors have been very helpful and I have had immense academic growth under their tutelage during my short time here. Through the encouragement of my professors, my love for Spanish was rekindled. My education at SUNY Plattsburgh has allowed me to broaden my horizons not only within the American context but also within my area of study.

Both the Foreign Languages Department and the Study Abroad Office have been instrumental in my transition to the University of Monterrey in the fall of 2002. This was an awesome experience from which I have undoubtedly benefited. Not only did the office facilitate my smooth transition to Monterrey, but also it continued to follow my progress and afforded me the opportunity of being a member of the selection team for a new assistant coordinator in the spring of 2003.

Hard Work is Rewarded Here

Plattsburgh State fosters diligence and shows appreciation to industrious students while encouraging others to follow the example of their peers. I would encourage fellow students to continue to work hard and to solicit the support of the professors at all times, because I have never met a professor who has refused to help me whenever I sought his/her assistance. I am also deeply grateful to the Foreign Languages and Literature Department for choosing me to be one of the recipients for the award in Excellence in Foreign Languages and Literature at the end of the spring semester 2003.

Plattsburgh State has broadened my cultural experience and has allowed me to blossom. I step into the wider world confidently supported by the wealth of knowledge gained here.
