Meet One of Our Graduates

Jeremy Lawless, Class of 2003

Jeremy Lawless graduated with a Master in Childhood Education and is now working at Saratoga Springs Elementary School teaching 4th grade.

Student Teaching Was the Best Experience I Could Have Had

I enjoyed being able to choose the location that you think would suit your needs best. Also, there were a select group of Professors that really worked overtime with you to help you organize your materials and discuss any problems you may be having.

Small Classes and Enthusiastic Faculty Made This a Great Program

Anneliese Mueller was a great Professor! She really pushed us to work hard in our classes and prepared us for what the real workload is like in the profession. Without her, I KNOW that I would not have been as prepared as I was. And I got a job!!! It is unheard of to get a job right out of college... and well, it happened to me.

Having the teacher resource center right on campus was beautiful! The resources that were in there, whether it be the books or the teachers that frequent to facility, are irreplaceable. I liked the size of the classes and the informal approach the professors took to the education classes. The class size was very comforting; you got to know everyone so you weren't discouraged to participate.

There Are Other Benefits Too

I loved the area attractions... there was always something to do. I loved to be in the mountains and hike, and for concerts you can go over to Burlington and undoubtedly catch a great show. Montreal is a short distance and gives you a whole other perspective on a city.

Jeremy's Advice for Prospective and Current Students

Talk to other students and find out what professor's teaching styles are. Are they compatible to you? Do they push you to succeed? Don't take the easy way out, you will benefit in the end!
