Economics & Finance Faculty - Dr. Young Sik Jang
Professor
Originally from South Korea, Dr. Jang came to the states in the early 1960s. He earned his B.S. in Economics from Seton Hall University in 1964, and his M.A. and Ph.D. in Economics from SUNY-Albany in 1965 and 1969 respectfully. Dr. Jang's major research interest is Energy Economics where he has published two books on North Korean Energy Economics and numerous scholarly articles. He was also named President and CEO of the Korean Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) for two years before retuning to teach at SUNY-Plattsburgh.
In his spare time, Dr. Jang still enjoys alpine skiing and regularly visits Whiteface Mountain in Lake Placid, New York. In the summer months, Dr. Jang stays in shape by golfing at several area golf courses.
