Student Activities
Criminal Justice Activities On Campus
Alpha Kappa Delta
This International Sociological Honor Society recognizes students with superior academic achievements. Each semester, students conduct a ceremony and initiation - as well as a celebration! AKD also sponsors speakers and films on topics of interest to the students.
Criminal Justice/Sociology Club
The CJ/Soc Club meets regularly to plan outings and events. Several years, the club has journeyed to Washington, DC to work with the police department there, going on ride-alongs and talking with officers.
Teaching Assistants
Several faculty members offer students the opportunity to serve as peer teaching assistants in their courses. These TAs help other students in the class and often assist the professor in preparing the course.
Research Assistants
All faculty are engaged in primary research, as well as teaching. There are frequent opportunities to assist faculty in their work. Most often, such research assistantships are paid, but they always provide an opportunity to know the faculty better and to gain important experience in research.
