Abdullah "Khursheed" Hussein, M.S., Counselor Education, 1999
"My classes in the counselor education program went beyond simply training me to be a school counselor: we explored subjects such as consultation, violence prevention, and bridging the communication gap between school administrators, teachers, and families. These were aspects of the program I hadn't anticipated. The instructors were extremely helpful, especially toward the end of the program, when I had to line up an internship, put together a portfolio, and start looking for a job. My wife and I were in the program at the same time, but we were always able to attend classes because there's child-care for graduate students right on campus."
