Stephanie Tripp joined the faculty of the Communication Department in Fall 2007. She earned her doctorate in English at the University of Florida in 2006. Her teaching experience includes seven years at UF and four years at Rhodes College in Memphis, TN. Before attending graduate school, she worked ten years as a newspaper reporter in Florida. Dr. Tripp's doctoral research focused on digital media theory. She is currently working on a book manuscript that explores connections between digital media, the work of philosopher Jacques Derrida, and gothic elements in popular culture. Her publications include chapters in The Politics of Information: The Electronic Mediation of Social Change (Alt-x Press, 2003) and Visual Media and the Humanities: A Pedagogy of Representation (University of Tennessee Press, 2004). |
