A Faculty That Wants to Help You Stand Out.
We're Here for You.

An Open Door Policy

At Plattsburgh State the faculty want you to succeed. As a result, Chemistry faculty maintain an "open-door" policy. If you have a question, feel free to walk in and ask.
Dr. Will Deutschman meets with
Biochemistry students in his office
to answer their questions.

Chemistry Help Sessions

Need some help? Have some questions? In addition to faculty office meetings, the Chemistry faculty sponsors open "Help Sessions" every Monday and Thursday nights. Stop in and get the help you need. The faculty take turns hosting the "Help Sessions" to make sure you can get the help you need to succeed.
Dr. Ed Miller works with students
during an evening Help Session.

Student Research

In the modern world, the emphasis is not just on learning, but also on doing. At SUNY Plattsburgh, students are required to take part in undergraduate research projects which allow them to apply what they learn.  The faculty are always available to help you with your research.
Dr. Ewa Pater explains the use of
the auto-sampler for the HPLC
(High Performance Liquid
Chromatography).
