Professor
Dr. William R. Kelting is a Professor of Accounting. He has been teaching for the past thirty years at SUNY Plattsburgh. Before joining the college, he worked for several accounting firms including Arthur Andersen, and Telling, Kelting & Potter, CPA (Founding Partner).
Dr. Kelting B.A. in Economics from Washington & Lee University, an M.B.A. in Public Administration from Rutgers University, and a Ph.D. in Accounting with minors in Economics and Psychology from University of Arkansas (1988). Dr. kelting is also a CPA.
Dr. Kelting's research publication has appeared in refereed journals. Recent publications appeared in The Accounting Educator's Journal, Journal of Financial Crimes, and Pension: An International Journal. Dr. Kelting also coauthored a computerized case study in governmental accounting and a study Guide for a major textbook in Auditing. In addition, Dr. Kelting has several publications in professional journals and made several presentations at academic and professional organizations. He is a member of American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Association of certified Fraud Examiners, New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Dr. Kelting is very active in service to the department, school, college, and the community as a whole. He has served as a chair and/or a member for more than thirty different committees. His service also includes academic and career advisement to accounting majors.
