Art Faculty - Norman Taber
Associate Professor
Norman Taber graduated with a B.F.A. in Design from Brigham Young University. He then received an M.F.A. from the Savannah College of Art and Design. He has worked as a designer and instuctor in Georgia, Oklahoma, and currently in New York. Norman began his career primarily as an illustrator, working for publications such as Yankee, Smart Money, Stanford, New Woman, and A.A.R.P. In addition to editorial illustration, he also works on children's books with his wife, Tory Taber. He also produces designs for posters, company logos and publications. At Plattsburgh State, Taber is focusing on combining aspects of traditional and digital illustration, as well as designing and illustrating a book for children. Norman's interests include studying the type and design of 18th and early 19th century headstones, product design of the 1930's, hiking, and painting with young daughters, Zoe and Elizabeth.
