WQKE 93.9 FM Radio Studios

WQKE is the college's student-operated, FCC designated on-air broadcast radio facility. The "Quake's" alternative, college-radio format broadcasts 10,000 milliwatts of power 7 days a week from 8AM to 2:30 AM daily, to both a campus-wide and a local community audience. WQKE reaches out to over 30,000 potential listeners with its music, talk shows, and sports programming.

WQKE is fully trained, staffed, operated, and managed by students who volunteer their time to be a part of the station. Since WQKE is a Student Association-funded organization, all students enrolled in classes at Plattsburgh State who pay Student Association dues are qualified to be a member of WQKE. No experience is necessary, and ALL majors are welcome to join. Members must be a part of 1 of the departments at "the Quake", and put in 1 hour of station work per week.

Members of WQKE also complete community service work. Last November WQKE staged a "Starve-a-thon" raising over 1,000 cans of food to stock area food shelters for Thanksgiving!
