The Plattsburgh State softball team gained varsity status in 1999 and plays on what is considered one of the top fields in New York State.

The field boasts complete press box and concessions facilities as well as seating behind home plate, down each baseline and beyond the outfield fence.

The field is not only home to the Cardinal softball squad, but also host to high school championship games each year and numerous intramural contests.

The amenities of the field include a batting cage, concrete dugouts and bullpen areas for pitching warm-ups.

The field is located on Rugar Street and adjacent to the Field House parking area.
