Our staff of physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, counselors, nurses, administrative staff, medical laboratory technologist and health educator(s) are pleased to provide primary health care services to students enrolled at SUNY Plattsburgh.
There is a wide range of services offered at our center including a walk-in clinic, psychological counseling, nutritional advice, educational programs and more.
In addition, less than one mile from campus is a regional medical center, Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital (CVPH).

Pfizer has announced a recall of some Lo/Ovral-28 birth control packages. A packaging error has resulted in incorrect medication doses, which may leave women without adequate birth control and at risk of unintended pregnancy. These packaging defects will not cause any other immediate health risks.

The Center for Student Health and Psychological Services will host free HIV and STD testing two afternoons a week, beginning October 17th.
Kevin Colon from the AIDS Council of Northeastern New York has been providing testing and counseling services at the Center once a week since early September. Due to the overwhelming response to this service, Kevin is expanding his hours to Monday and Friday afternoons, 12-4.
Appointments must be made in person at Student Health. Urine chlamydia and gonorrhea testing is offered, as well as rapid HIV testing.
Syphilis testing is offered to those at high risk for this infection, including men who have sex with men. Testing is confidential and easy, so make your appointment today!
The Center for Student Health and Psychological Services has received a limited supply of free HPV vaccine (Gardasil) from the Clinton County Health Department.
The vaccine is available to both male and female SUNY Plattsburgh students between the ages of 19 and 26.
HPV is a virus, and certain genital strains of the virus can cause genital warts, as well as cervical, vaginal, vulvar and anal cancers. Gardasil helps protect against 4 strains of HPV that cause the majority of genital warts cases and cancers.
Students interested in receiving Gardasil should come to Student Health, Mondays-Wednesdays, 8 am – 11:30 am and Fridays 8:30 am – 11:30 am.
